How does the TSMO Strategic Plan align with the 2050 MTP Update?

The purpose of the 2050 MTP update is to coordinate regional transportation planning efforts between the State and the Municipality of Anchorage. The plan will support and develop a transportation network that effectively moves people and goods, maintains resident’s high quality of life and a strong economy, and reflects community priorities. TSMO helps reach these goals by identifying innovative solutions to current and future issues. This includes: improving the safety, connectivity, and experience of the multimodal pedestrian, bicycle, and transit infrastructure; aid in cross-town connectivity with connected signals; and improve traveler information with incidents including collisions, work zones, and weather impacts.

The 2050 MTP asked for suggestions and comments on a recent map, the AMATS Comment Status Overview Map. We will be reviewing your feedback to identify the key areas where TSMO will be implemented to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the transportation system.
