What is TSMO?
TSMO stands for Transportation System Management and Operations. TSMO is a toolbox of strategies to improve safety and provide reliable travel options for all users.
TSMO looks for ways to manage congestion without relying on additional roadway lanes, wherever this is possible. It emphasizes solutions that are high-impact and relatively easy to implement. Solutions can be spot treatments, such as a new crosswalk or pedestrian signal, or systemwide, such as a multiagency Traffic Management Center or Data Warehouse to improve issue identification and response time.
